Details:
On or about Wednesday, October 21st, 2020, an accident between an 18-wheeler and a car sent a 22-year-old woman to the hospital. Officials said the accident happened at the intersection of West Side Highway (Highway 33) and Cadet Road in Taft, California.
Deputies from Kern County said that an as-of-yet unidentified 22-year-old woman was injured when a tractor-trailer turned into her path from Cadet Road as she was driving northbound on West Side Highway. First responders freed the woman from the wreckage and rushed her to nearby Kern Medical to be treated for leg injuries.
Reviewing the intersection on Google Maps shows that West Side Highway (Highway 33) is two lanes that run north and south, while Cadet Road is also two lanes with a stop sign at the intersection with West Side Highway.
Officials expect to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
