On or about Wednesday, October 20th, 2021, around 11:11 in the morning, a hit-and-run accident between a road worker and a tractor-trailer sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries. Troopers from the PSP said the accident was reported on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Big Beaver, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was injured when they were allegedly struck by a passing tractor-trailer as they were conducting traffic at a work zone on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The driver of the tractor-trailer fled the scene after the accident, while the worker was rushed to the hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, Big Beaver is situated about 40 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh.

Authorities are still looking for the offending truck.
