Details:
On or about Thursday, August 12th, 2021, around 9:43 at night, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV sent one individual to the hospital. Officials from the Smith County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported at the intersection of Loop 323 and Shaw Street in Tyler, Texas.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when the Chevrolet Tahoe they were driving allegedly collided with a tractor-trailer that was attempting a U-turn across the lanes of traffic. Paramedics rushed the driver of the Tahoe to a nearby hospital with serious injuries stemming from the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unhurt in the accident.
Authorities closed all the northbound lanes of Loop 323 in order to tend to the scene of the accident.
Police are still investigating.
