On or about Sunday, August 15th, 2021, around 5:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a recreational vehicle and three tractor-trailers sent one person to the hospital by helicopter. Deputies from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the eastbound side of the Indiana Toll Road in Howe, Indiana.

Indiana State Police spokespeople said one as-of-yet unidentified person was hurt when three tractor-trailers and a recreational vehicle collided in a chain-reaction accident in the eastbound lanes of the Indiana Toll Road. Police did not indicate what may have started off the chain-reaction crash. Paramedics airlifted one individual from the scene to the hospital with a serious leg injury stemming from the accident.

According to Google Maps, the Indiana Toll Road runs east and west along the northern edge of Howe, which is roughly 140 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

Police are still investigating the crash.
