On or about Saturday, September 4th, 2021, an accident between a tractor-trailer and a utility truck sent one individual to the hospital. Deputies from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Highway 101 just north of Palmer Road near Los Alamos, California.

Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when a utility truck allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer while driving down Highway 101. After the initial collision, the utility truck crashed off the side of the road into a ditch. Emergency responders cut one person from the wreckage and rushed them to Marian Regional Medical Center Hospital with unspecified injuries stemming from the accident. Police did not specify which vehicle the victim was in at the time of the accident.

According to Google Maps, Highway 101 runs north and south through Los Alamos, which is situated about 140 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Multiple agencies assisted at the scene of the collision.
