Details:
On or about Wednesday, May 12th, 2021, around 7:00 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a tractor-trailer sent one person to the hospital. Troopers from the NCHP said the accident was reported along Van Buren Road near the intersection with Stadium Drive in Eden, North Carolina.
Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when they were allegedly struck by a tractor-trailer as they were walking in or near the roadway. Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement.
According to Google Maps, Eden is nestled in Rockingham County, about 43 miles northeast of Winston Salem.
Authorities are still examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
