On or about Monday, May 17th, 2021, around 5:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a train and a tractor-trailer sent one person to the hospital. Deputies from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened at a railroad crossing on North MacArthur Boulevard near the West Irving Station in Irving, Texas.
Officers from the DPD said one as-of-yet unidentified person was injured when a train allegedly struck a tractor-trailer that was on the rails at the crossing. Emergency responders transported one person on the train to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries stemming from the accident.
Police indicated the tractor-trailer may have been trying to beat the train across the tracks at the time of the accident.
Authorities are still investigating the accident.
