On or about Friday, March 25th, 2022, around 2:20 in the morning, a single-vehicle accident with an alleged drunk driver left one person dead and sent another individual to the hospital. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along Telge Road in Cypress, Texas.

Law enforcement representatives from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed, while 26-year-old Arely Razo was injured when the vehicle Razo was driving allegedly veered off the side of Telge Road and slammed into a tree a short distance off the pavement. Emergency responders pronounced the passenger in the vehicle dead of her injuries after the accident. Razo was taken to the hospital with injuries of an unknown nature or severity.

Authorities have since charged Arely Razo with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the accident, and witnesses said the pair may have left a bar in the moments before the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 27 miles northwest of downtown Houston.

Police are still investigating the incident.
