On or about Wednesday, September 8th, 2021, around 10:00 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a car left one person dead. Deputies from the Providence County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of Old Scituate Avenue and Betty Pond Road in Scituate, Rhode Island.
Law enforcement representatives from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a box truck and a car collided under unspecified circumstances while driving in the area of Betty Pond Road and Old Scituate Avenue. One person was pronounced dead a short time after the accident, but police did not specify which vehicle they were in at the time of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Scituate is about 15 miles west of downtown Providence.
Authorities are still investigating the collision.
