On or about Thursday, June 16th, 2022, around 11:45 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a scooter rider left a 49-year-old man dead. Officers from the NYPD said the accident was reported along Central Avenue in Brooklyn, New York.
Law enforcement spokespeople said an as-of-yet unidentified 49-year-old man was killed when they were allegedly run over by a box truck after being thrown from a scooter as the box truck was turning. Emergency responders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is at the intersection with Palmetto Street.
Officials are still investigating.
