On or about Thursday, June 9th, 2022, around 3:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a box truck and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Troopers from the SCHP said the accident was reported along Dorchester Road in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Troopers from the South Carolina Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a box truck as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic on Dorchester Road. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from the intersection with Oscar Johnson Drive.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
