On or about Monday, November 15th, 2021, around 4:27 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a passenger vehicle claimed the life of a 33-year-old man. Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Highway 27 and Sanders Road in Haines City, Florida.
Police said an as-of-yet unidentified 33-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving allegedly slammed into the back of a box truck that was stopped at the red light at the intersection of Sanders Road and Highway 27. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the car dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Haines City is about 38 miles southwest of downtown Orlando.
Florida Highway Patrol assisted after the accident.
