Details:
On or about Wednesday, April 7th, 2021, around 6:00 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a box truck left one individual dead. Officials from the MSHP said the accident was reported along the southbound side of Interstate 270 near Marshall Road in Kirkwood, Missouri.
Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a passing box truck. Officials did not specify where the victim was standing at the time of the accident. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene, or if they were rushed to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
Interstate 270 runs north and south along the western edge of Kirkwood, which is about 15 miles west of downtown St. Louis.
Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
