On or about Monday, September 20th, 2021, around 8:27 at night, an accident between a pedestrian and a box truck claimed the life of a woman. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of Merrill Avenue and Cherry Avenue in Fontana, California.
Authorities from the area said an as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed when she was allegedly struck by a passing box truck as she was walking along or making an attempt to cross the road near the intersection of Cherry Avenue and Merrill Avenue. Paramedics rushed the woman to Kaiser Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is in western Fontana, which is about 50 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.
Police are still examining the incident.
