Details:
On or about Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022, around 9:40 at night, a hit-and-run accident between a pedestrian and a box truck left one individual dead. Investigators said the accidnet was reported at or near the intersection of 108th Street and Central Avenue in Los Angeles, California.
Troopers from the California Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when she was allegedly struck by a box truck as she was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes at 108th Street and Central Avenue. After the initial accident, the driver of the box truck fled the scene of the incident. Emergency responders pronounced the woman dead a short time after the accident but it is not presently clear if she died at the scene or after she was rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 108th Street and Central Avenue is on the south side of Los Angeles.
Police are still trying to track down the driver of the box truck.
