Details:
On or about Thursday, October 7th, 2021, around 5:00 in the afternoon, an accident between a box truck and a cyclist left one individual dead. Officials from the FHP said the accident was reported along Riverwood Drive in Okaloosa County, Florida.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a box truck as they were riding their bike on or along Riverwood Drive. Paramedics pronounced the cyclist dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or if they were rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival.
According to Google Maps, Okaloosa County is about 55 miles east of downtown Pensacola.
Police are still investigating.
