Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021, around 6:00 in the morning, an accident between a box truck and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 50-year-old Navarre man. Troopers from the FHP said the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. 98 and Brand Court in Santa Rosa County, Florida.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said an as-of-yet unidentified 50-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly struck by a passing box truck that swerved into the bike lane where he was walking. The box truck subsequently fled the scene. Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to a nearby hospital where he died of his injuries a short time after his arrival.
Google Maps shows Santa Rosa County is situated northwest of downtown Pensacola.
Troopers from the FHP and local law enforcement are investigating.
