On or about Thursday, October 28th, 2021, around 9:00 at night, an accident between a box truck and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 58-year-old man. Officers from the NYPD said the accident was reported near Times Square at 41st Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan, New York.
Officials said one as-of-yet unidentified 58-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly struck by a box truck as he was walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the street at the intersection of 41st Street and 8th Avenue. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The box truck that struck the victim fled the scene a short time after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is situated in the center of Manhattan, a short distance south of Central Park.
Police are still investigating the accident.
