Details:
On or about Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, around 7:37 in the evening, a hit-and-run accident between a box truck and a pedestrian left a 14-year-old boy dead. Authorities from the area said the accident was reported at the intersection of East Fayetteville Road and Walker Road in Riverdale, Georgia.
Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified 14-year-old boy was killed when he was allegedly hit by a box truck as he was walking alongside or tried to cross the lanes of traffic. After the initial accident, the box truck fled the scene. Paramedics pronounced the 14-year-old boy dead a short time after the accident.
Authorities later arrested one person and charged them with multiple offenses, including vehicular homicide.
Police are still investigating.
