On or about Monday, February 8th, 2021, around 12:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a box truck and an 18-wheeler left one person dead. Representatives from the state police said the accident happened on the southbound side of Route 495 in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
Police officers said an as-of-yet unidentified 42-year-old man was killed when the box truck he was driving allegedly struck a tractor-trailer that was moving to the side of the roadway with a flat tire. First responders pronounced the driver of the box truck dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not report injuries.
State Troopers closed two lanes of the roadway for over three hours in order to tend to the scene.
Authorities hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
