On or about Thursday, October 21st, 2021, an accident between a transit bus and a pedestrian left a 40-year-old woman dead. Officers said the accident was reported along the 850 block of Chapel Street in New Haven, Connecticut.
Law enforcement representatives said an as-of-yet unidentified 40-year-old woman was killed when she was allegedly struck by a transit bus as she was walking along or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Chapel Street. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if she died at the scene or after being taken to a nearby hospital by EMS. Police did not mention any other vehicles in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps. the 850 block of Chapel Street is situated in downtown New Haven.
Police are still investigating.
