On or about Thursday, February 4th, 2021, around 7:00 in the evening, an accident between a bus and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Troopers from the OSP said the accident happened at the intersection of Western Boulevard at Southwest Third Street in Corvallis, Oregon.

Law enforcement representatives from the area said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when they were allegedly hit by a transit bus as they were crossing in or near a crosswalk. The pedestrian was pronounced dead a short time after they were struck. No other injuries were reported.

Corvallis is located about 83 miles south of Portland, according to Google Maps. The intersection is controlled by a stoplight.

Deputies from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Oregon State Police are investigating the accident.
