On or about Monday, May 2nd, 2022, around 6:00 in the evening, a serious two-vehicle accident between a pickup truck and a minivan left a 16-year-old driver dead. Representatives from the Department of Public Safety said he accident was reported along Highway 83 in Runnels County, Texas.
Spokespeople from the Texas DPS said an as-of-yet unidentified 16-year-old boy was killed when the pickup truck he was driving was allegedly hit by a minivan while the pickup was attempting a U-turn along U.S. Highway 83. Emergency responders pronounced the teen dead of the injuries he sustained when he was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. The driver of the minivan was treated for unspecified injuries after the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the crash is about three miles north of Ballinger.
Officials are still investigating the accident.
