On or about Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, around 7:37 in the evening, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported on Interstate 35 near the exchange with Cheddar Loop Road in Austin, Texas.
Local law enforcement officials said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by one or several vehicles as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of I-35. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Officials did not mention any additional injuries in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of Interstate 35 and Cheddar Loop Road is situated on the north side of Austin.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
