Details:
On or about Thursday, December 23rd, 2021, around 11:12 at night, an accident between a pedestrian and a car left one individual dead. Deputies from the Travis County Sheriff’s Department said the accident was reported along the northbound side of Interstate 35 near the exchange with West Howard Lane in Austin, Texas.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a passing motorist as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross I-35 near Howard Ln. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries a short time after they responded to the incident. Officials did not say if the vehicle that struck the pedestrian stayed at the scene or fled.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of West Howard Lane and Interstate 35 is on the north side of Austin.
Police are still investigating the accident.
