On or about Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022, sometime in the early morning hours, an accident between a disabled vehicle and a tractor-trailer left one individual dead. Troopers from the TSP said the accident was reported along Interstate 65 near Moores Lane just outside Franklin in Williamson County, Tennessee.

Authorities from the Tennessee State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a tractor-trailer allegedly struck the back of a disabled vehicle along I-65. Emergency responders pronounced one person in the disabled vehicle dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. Officials did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the accident.

According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance outside of Franklin, which is about 21 miles south of downtown Nashville.

Officials are still investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
