On or about Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, around 4:30 in the afternoon, a major single-vehicle car accident left one person dead. Troopers from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along McCann Road in Gregg County, Texas.
Authorities from the Texas DPS said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the passenger vehicle they were in allegedly drove off the side of McCann Road and slammed into a tree a short distance off the pavement. One person in the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead of their injuries a short time after the accient.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the incident is not far from the exchange with George Richey Road.
