On or about Thursday, June 23rd, 2022, around 10:43 at night, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left one person dead. Deputies from the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Lubbock, Texas.
Local law enforcement spokespeople said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a passing vehicle as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or after they were rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is near the exchange with East 76th Street.
Police are still looking into the accident.
