On or about Sunday, May 8th, 2022, around 7:00 in the evening, an accident between a passenger vehicle and a pedestrian left one individual dead. Officials said the accident was reported at the intersection of Octavia Street and Rio Grande Avenue in El Paso, Texas.
Officers from the El Paso Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a passing motorist as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic at Octavia Street and Rio Grande Avenue. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries at the scene of the collision.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Octavia Street and Rio Grande Avenue is not far from the heart of El Paso.
Police are still investigating the accident.
