Details:
On or about Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, around 2:00 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Authorities from the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of Research Boulevard near North Lamar Boulevard in Austin, Texas.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a passing vehicle as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of traffic. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries or vehicles in their statement.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of Research Boulevard near North Lamar Boulevard is on the north side of Austin.
Police are still investigating the accident.
