Details:
On or about Tuesday, March 1st, 2022, around 8:30 at night, an accident between a pedestrian and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Officers from the CCPD said the accident was reported along South Padre Island Drive near Crosstown in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Representatives from the Corpus Christi Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a vehicle as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of South Padre Island Drive. Emergency responders pronounced the victim dead a short time after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if they died at the scene or if they were rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries a short time after their arrival.
According to Google Maps, the exchange of South Padre Island Drive and the Crosstown Expressway is on the south side of Corpus Christi.
Officers from the CCPD are still investigating the incident.
