On or about Saturday, January 1st, 2021, around 9:20 at night, a major accident between a heavy-duty pickup truck and a passenger vehicle left one individual dead. Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Wayne Road and East Martin Drive in Porter, Texas.
Law enforcement spokespeople said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the Acura they were allegedly driving with the lights off slammed into a Ford F-350 pickup truck at a high rate of speed. After the initial collision, the Ford F-350 rolled a significant distance with the force of the impact. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the Acrua dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. Authorities did not mention any other injuries in their statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 26 miles north of downtown Houston.
Police are still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
