On or about Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, around 4:45 in the afternoon, an accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV left one individual dead and sent a 10-year-old child to the hospital. Troopers from the TSP said the accident was reported in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Greene County, Tennessee.
Law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed, while a 10-year-old child was injured when the SUV they were in allegedly struck the back of a tractor-trailer along northbound Interstate 81. Paramedics pronounced one person in the SUV dead a short time after the accident, while a 10-year-old was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
According to Google Maps, Interstate 81 runs north and south through Greene County, which is about 72 miles east of downtown Knoxville.
