On or about Thursday, January 28th, 2021, an accident between a commercial vehicle and a pedestrian left one woman dead. Law enforcement spokespeople said the accident happened at Jacksonville Port Authority in Jacksonville, Florida.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified woman was killed when she was allegedly hit by a large commercial vehicle while walking on the Port Authority premises. Paramedics rushed the woman to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries a short time after her arrival.
Officials noted that the victim was a tenant on the property, and not an actual employee of the Port Authority.
Several state and local agencies are investigating the accident.
