On or about Monday, November 16th, 2020, around 4:00 in the morning, an accident between a pedestrian and a commercial van left a 57-year-old man dead. Investigators said the accident happened on Soundview Avenue in the Bronx, New York.
Law enforcement spokespeople said an as-of-yet unidentified 57-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly struck by a commercial van. Officers did not indicate where they pedestrian was standing when he was hit. First responders rushed the victim to Jacobi Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival.
Google Maps indicates Soundview Avenue is four lanes that run north and south, with retail storefronts on either side of the pavement. The area is located in the southern portion of the Bronx.
NYPD is assisting in the accident investigation, which is still active and ongoing.
