On or about Friday, May 6th, 2022, around 12:30 in the morning, a serious two-vehicle accident with a suspected drunk driver left one individual dead. Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported along the Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas.
Authorities from the Houston Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the minivan they were in was allegedly hit by a pickup truck that was traveling at a high rate of speed on Katy Freeway. Paramedics pronounced one person in the minivan dead of their injuries after the accident.
Police expect to charge the driver of the pickup truck with intoxication manslaughter in connection with the crash.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from the Washington Corridor.
Officials are still investigating.
