On or about Saturday, June 26th, 2021, around 8:00 in the morning, an accident between a motorcycle and a dump truck left one individual dead. Troopers from the LSP said the accident was reported at the intersection of 4th Street and Destrehan Avenue in Harvey, Louisiana.
Authorities said one as-of-yet unidentified person was killed when the motorcycle they were on was allegedly hit by a dump truck that was turning at the intersection of 4th Street and Destrehan Avenue. Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident. Officials did not mention any other injuries in their initial statement on the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of 4th Street and Destrehan Avenue is situated on the banks of the Mississippi River, with the scene of the accident about six miles south of downtown New Orleans.
Officials hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
