Details:
On or about Wednesday, April 28th, 2021, an accident between a pedestrian and a dump truck left one man dead. Troopers from the FHP said the accident was reported in a construction zone on the north side of the Pensacola Bay Bridge on Bayfront Parkway near 17th Street in Pensacola, Florida.
Investigators said one as-of-yet unidentified pedestrian was killed when they were allegedly struck by a backing dump truck. Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time after his arrival. Officers did not mention any other injuries or vehicles in their reporting on the incident.
According to Google Maps, Bayfront Parkway turns into the Pensacola Bay Bridge, with a Y-intersection with 17th Street just north of the bridge.
Florida Highway Patrol is assisting in the accident investigation.
