On or about Thursday, July 22nd, 2021, around 6:30 in the morning, an accident between a dump truck and a delivery driver on a moped left a 27-year-old man dead. Officials said the accident was reported at or near the intersection of East Seventh Street and Caton Avenue in Kensington on Long Island, New York.
Authorities from the NYPD said one as-of-yet unidentified 27-year-old man was killed when the moped he was driving was allegedly hit by a dump truck near the intersection of Caton Avenue and E. Seventh Street. Paramedics pronounced the operator of the moped dead of his injuries at the scene of the accident. Police are trying to determine if a panel van was also involved in the accident.
According to Google Maps, the intersection of East Seventh Street and Caton Avenue is on the northeast side of Long Island in Nassau County.
Police are still working to determine the sequence of events that led to the accident.
