On or about Monday, November 29th, 2021, around 9:00 in the morning, a serious accident between a dump truck and a pickup truck claimed the life of one individual. Representatives from the CHP said the accident was reported along Highway 119 not far from the intersection with Elk Hills Road in Taft, California.
California Highway Patrol Troopers said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when the pickup truck they were in and a dump truck collided under unspecified circumstances while driving down Highway 119. Officials said the collision appeared to be head-on in nature, but did not speculate any further. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead of their injuries a short time after the collision.
According to Google Maps, Taft is about 119 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
CHP and local officials are investigating the incident.
