On or about Tuesday, July 20th, 2021, around 9:30 in the morning, an accident between a pickup truck and a farm tractor/mower left one man dead. Troopers from the WSP said the accident was reported along Highway 53 just outside Solon Springs in Douglas County, Wisconsin.
Troopers from the Wisconsin State Police said one as-of-yet unidentified man was killed when his pickup truck allegedly collided with a farm tractor/mower that was driving in the roadway on Highway 53. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead after the accident, but it is not immediately clear if he died at the scene, or if he succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital.
According to Google Maps, Highway 53 runs north and south through Douglas County, which is situated about 126 miles north of Eau Claire.
Police are still working to pin down all the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
