On or about Thursday, March 18th, 2021, around 5:30 in the afternoon, an accident between a FedEx truck and a pedestrian left a 55-year-old woman dead. Local law enforcement representatives said the accident happened along Chapel Street at the intersection with Temple Street in New Haven, Connecticut.

Authorities said an as-of-yet unidentified 55-year-old woman was killed when she was allegedly hit by a passing FedEx truck while she was crossing the northbound lanes of Chapel Street. Officials said the FedEx truck may have been turning, or was preparing to turn at the time of the accident. Paramedics pronounced the 55-year-old woman dead of her injuries at the scene.

The intersection of Temple Street and Chapel Street is situated in the heart of downtown New Haven.

Officials are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
