On or about Monday, May 16th, 2022, around 12:10 in the morning, a two-vehicle accident with an alleged wrong-way driver left one person dead and sent five others to the hospital. Spokespeople from the Department of Public Safety said the accident was reported along the Marsha Sharp Freeway in Lubbock, Texas.
Representatives from the Lubbock Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed and five others were injured when a vehicle allegedly struck another car head-on while driving the wrong direction on the Marsha Sharp Freeway. Emergency responders pronounced one person dead of their injuries, while five others were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Police did not specify which vehicle or vehicles the victims were in at the time of the accident.
