On or about Sunday, January 3rd, 2021, around 5:30 in the evening, an accident between a flatbed tow truck and a car claimed the life of one person. Deputies from Bexar County said the accident happened on the I-35 service road near Somerset Road in San Antonio, Texas.

Authorities said one man died when his car allegedly struck the back of a tow truck while attempting to maneuver around it at a high rate of speed. A portion of the flatbed penetrated the cabin of the car and struck the driver in the head. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene.

Google Maps shows the scene of the accident is situated on the service road between Somerset Road and Palo Alto Road. The area is located in the southern part of the greater San Antonio area.

Police hope to release the findings of their investigation at a later date.
