On or about Monday, December 6th, 2021, around 6:30 in the morning, a major accident between a pickup truck, a passenger vehicle, and a truck towing a flatbed utility trailer left a 59-year-old man dead. Troopers from the CHP said the accident was reported along Riverside Drive (Highway 129) in Watsonville, California.
Police representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified 59-year-old man was killed when a pickup truck towing a flatbed utility trailer and a Toyota Tacoma collided, causing the flatbed utility trailer to disconnect from the pickup truck and rolled into the path of a Chevrolet Malibu. Emergency responders pronounced the driver of the Chevrolet Malibu dead of his injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene of the accident.
According to Google Maps, Riverside Drive, (Highway 129) cuts east and west into Watsonville, which is located about 90 miles south of downtown San Francisco.
California Highway Patrol assisted at the scene of the accident.
