On or about Wednesday, January 13rd, 2021, around 10:15 in the morning, a single-vehicle passenger van accident left one person dead and sent fourteen people to the hospital. Authorities said the accident happened on Route 24 in Morris County, New Jersey.

Investigators said an as-of-yet unidentified 61-year-old man was killed and fourteen others were injured when the passenger van they were in allegedly rolled off the eastbound side of Route 24 and crashed into a wooded patch. The driver of the van was pronounced dead a short time after the accident, while fourteen other people were taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Route 24 is four lanes in the area, with a grassy median dividing east and westbound traffic, according to Google Streetview. Morris County is located about 35 miles west of New York City.

Deputies from the County Sheriff’s Office is assisting State Police with the investigation.
