On or about Monday, February 14th, 2022, around 10:30 in the morning, an accident between a garbage truck and a pedestrian left one individual to the hospital. Representatives from the APD said the accident was reported along Campbellton Road near the YMCA in Atlanta, Georgia.
Officers from the Atlanta Police Department said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly struck by a garbage truck as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Campbellton Road. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead of their injuries a short time after they arrived at the scene. No other injuries were mentioned.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is on the southwest side of Atlanta.
Police are still investigating the collision.
