On or about Thursday, February 25th, 2021, an accident between a garbage truck and a pedestrian claimed the life of a 79-year-old Belmont man. Authorities said the accident was reported along Circle Drive Northeast in Plainfield Township, Michigan.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office said an as-of-yet unidentified 79-year-old man was killed when he was allegedly struck by a school bus as he was walking along or near Circle Drive Northeast. Emergency responders rushed the pedestrian to Spectrum Downtown Hospital where he died of his injuries a short time after his arrival.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is about 10 miles north of Grand Rapids.
Officers are still investigating the accident.
