On or about Saturday, April 9th, 2022, around 4:43 in the morning, an accident between a garbage truck and a pedestrian left one person dead. Troopers from the FHP said the accident was reported along Highway 441 in Marion County, Florida.
Spokespeople from the Florida Highway Patrol said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when they were allegedly hit by a garbage truck as they were walking alongside or made an attempt to cross the lanes of Highway 441. Emergency responders pronounced the pedestrian dead a short time after they responded to the accident.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is a short distance from Summerfield.
