On or about Thursday, May 5th, 2022, around 2:40 in the afternoon, a serious dump truck rollover accident left one individual dead. Representatives from the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office said the accident was reported at the intersection of Route 1 and East-West Highway in Riverdale Park, Maryland.
Law enforcement representatives said one as-of-yet unidentified individual was killed when a garbage truck allegedly lost control and rolled while driving at or near the intersection of Route 1 and East-West Highway. Emergency responders pronounced one person dead of their injuries at the scene of the accident. Officials did not specify if the victim was in the garbage truck, or another unmentioned vehicle.
According to Google Maps, the scene of the accident is not far from 44th Place.
Police are still investigating the crash.
